Spook-tacular Snacks They'll Scream For!

Whip up some creepy-cute Halloween snacks this year and wow your kids (and all of their friends) when they open their lunch box. These snacks are simple to make, perfectly packable, and guaranteed to be a spooky surprise!

1. Babybel Cheese Monsters

Unwrap half the wax from a Babybel cheese. Cut small teeth shapes into the red wax edge, then fold it back over the cheese. Stick on candy eyes or poke holes through the wax to make eyes.

2. Jack-O-Lantern Quesadillas

Cut two tortillas into pumpkin shapes. On one, cut out a simple jack-o-lantern face. Layer cheese between them and cook until the cheese melts.

3. Jicama Ghosts

Slice jicama thin and cut into ghost shapes. Use a straw to cute out eyes and a mouth.

4. Dragon Eggs

Gently crack the shells of hard-boiled eggs without peeling them.

Make the dye: Simmer 2 cups of chopped purple cabbage in 2 cups of water for 15–30 minutes. Let it cool, then strain out the cabbage and stir in 2 tablespoons of white vinegar.

Place the cracked eggs in a bowl or jar and pour the dye over them until fully covered. Refrigerate for a day or two, then peel to reveal the marbled “dragon egg”!

5. Pizza Dough Bones

Shape pizza dough into small breadsticks. Snip each end of the breadstick and spread into a y-shape. Form into bone shapes. Bake as directed for your dough.

6. English Muffin Mummy Pizzas

Split open the English muffin and top the halves with pizza sauce and two olive slices for the eyes. Lay thin cheese strips across the top like mummy wraps leaving some space for the sauce to peek through. Bake until melted.

7. Energy Ball Monsters

Make your favorite no-bake energy balls. Stick on candy eyes with a dab of honey, then roll in colorful sprinkles for monster hair.

8. Mini Pepper Pumpkin Faces

Use a small knife to carve jack-o-lantern or spooky faces into mini sweet peppers.

9. Pretzel Rod Ghosts

Dip pretzel rods into melted white chocolate. Before it the chocolate sets, press on chocolate sprinkles or mini chocolate chips to make eyes and a mouth.

10. Vampire Teeth

Use two apple slices and line one edge of each with slivered almonds for teeth. Press the slices together so the almonds meet in the middle.
