Your PlanetBox comes with everything you need to pack your child the lunch they will love. All children have their own likes and dislikes when it comes to their lunches. One child likes variety and surprises, while another likes the familiarity of that same PB&J sandwich every day. But neither child likes it when their sandwich touches their fruit.
We have found that most kids like a variety of foods that stay in their own compartments and don’t “touch each other.” You can pack any food in any compartment, but here are some suggestions for how to use your PlanetBox to pack a well-balanced, delicious lunch.
Measures 10 inches x 7 ½ inches x 1 ½ inches.
This “long” compartment is great for cheese sticks, snack bars, chips, crackers, nuts or long veggie sticks. It can also hold a small fork, spoon and napkin.
The lid has raised compartments on top so you can pile your foods high in the bottom compartments and still close the lid.
This “veggie” compartment holds ¾ cup cut up veggies (equal to 1 ½ servings).
Our spring clip latch is easy for little hands to open and close – and has no parts to get lost!
Use this “Big Dipper” for messy main dishes like pasta salads and yogurt parfaits. Or pack this container separately for your child’s snack time food. The lid has a food grade silicone rubber seal to prevent leaking.
This “main dish” compartment is perfect for sandwiches, cheese slices and cold cuts. Also fits a bagel or rice cake well.
This “little” compartment is great for a small cookie, a few yogurt covered raisins, a handful of chocolate chips, or some nuts. A small treat goes a long way with kids.
The hinge is designed to keep top and bottom together while making sure little hands won’t get caught.
This “fruit” compartment holds ¾ cup cut fruit (equal to 1 ½ servings). A cut-up apple, a few bunches of grapes, or a handful of whole strawberries fit nicely.
Use this “Little Dipper” for dips--if that helps your child actually eat their veggies! The lid has a food grade silicone rubber seal to prevent leaking.
