How do I draw on the Do It Yourself magnets?

There are many different ways to draw on the Do It Yourself magnets, and we have tested many different writing instruments.  In our testing, most crayons and colored pencils work well – crayons did not erase, and colored pencils drawings stayed on well, but could be erased if desired.  Regular markers can smudge and rub off, and are therefore not recommended.  Some permanent markers did not smudge if you let the ink dry.  Dry erase markers will smudge and rub off, as they are designed to do (that’s why they are called “dry erase”), and therefore we do not recommend using them.
